What is the story behind The Alliance and The Horde in World of Warcraft? Which is evil, and which is good?
I went with The Horde, because I like evil. But, my quite stupid friend told me the Alliance were the evil ones. I already have a level 75 Undead Death Knight, and I don’t want to find out that The Horde are good guys!
Once upon a time, when the World of Warcraft was all shiny and new, things were simple: the Horde hated the Alliance and they, in turn, despised the Horde. It was a simpler time, but this wasn’t just some game mechanic to facilitate PvP and hours of ganking, oh no, it was integral to the lore of Azeroth.
Now, it’s also worth remembering that there’s no black and white in Azeroth either. The Horde aren’t evil for just being the Horde, neither are the Alliance all pure as newly fallen snow. Each faction has done its fair share of pure and evil acts depending on the actions of individual heroes and the motivations of their leaders.
Alliance-good
Horde-bad
They are both pretty much the same. They each have different views on which faction is right and which is wrong. So it’s all a preference sort of thing.
If you’re Alliance, Horde is bad, if you’re Horde, Alliance is bad.
They’re both fighting for what they want.
Neither are really evil they are just different. You should read the books if you want to learn the whole story.

There is no ‘good’ or ‘evil’ in the alliance and horde. They are both just factions competing for power and resources. The undead are the only race that are actually evil, they do not care about their allies, the horde is just a tool for them so that they can get what they want. Dont worry, if you are playing an undead then you are evil! The alliance and horde have been fighting for as long as they were formed. The orcs saved the tauren and the trolls in exchange for fighting the alliance with them. The humans have been in countless wars with the scourge and they hate the undead. They accepted the humans, elves, gnomes and eventually draenei to form the alliance. I think the undead were a recent addition to the horde and they joined only so they can use the horde to acomplish their evil goals.
Horde are the “good guys” if by good you mean more talented (FTH).
Beyond that moral “good” and “bad” is really all a perspective thing and neither side is good or bad.
Horde is bad, just look at their races.
Its perspective,However the Horde used to be seen as bad and Alliance a bastion of good. However over time and as the story go’s on it is now to the point where Horde view Alliance as bad and Alliance view Horde as bad as well.Neither Are truly bad or good.
Ha, it depends on how you define good and evil. If you want the story, there’s a ton of background on the WoW site. Read up!
